EIFA Footballers that signed Professional Soccer Contracts

Since 2001, EIFAhas always been extremely proud of the dedication and commitment to their daily training and overall football development of our academy players. The quality of character and developed football talent that so many of our EduKick Football Academy footballers have shown over the last two decades is truly impressive. 

EduKick prides itself on its regular communication and prolonged relationship maintained with its former academy footballers after their leave the course.So it’s with great pride to see them realize their football dreams. Below are some of our players that have progressed on to reach their footy dream of playing professionally.

Davide Somma

Davide Somma(International/South Africa): After impressing at the academy, EduKick assisted Davide to obtain trials in Spain & Italy eventually signing his first professional contract with AC Perugia in Italy. Davide then return to the US and signed a developmental contract with San Jose Earthquakes where he became a member of the Generation Adidas squad who toured England which persuaded Somma to decide to try his luck in the UK. Davide then earned a pro contract with English Championship Club, Leeds United FC. After a devastating knee injury, he was sent out on load to Chesterfield and Lincoln City. In 2010 Davide made his full international debut with the South African Men’s National Team in Cape Town vs the International. Davide, a close friend of EduKick Founder, Joey Bilotta, now has the role of EDUKICK’s WORLD FOOTBALL AMBASSADOR.

Sam Zimmermann(Lichtenstein): EduKick Alumni Sam Zimmermann represented Lichtenstein national U21 team in the European U21 Championship qualifiers. At the end of his program EduKick helped Sam to obtain a trial with English Championship professional team Peterborough FC and they asked him to return for a further trial during their pre-season training, but Sam decided to return home to Switzerland and concentrate on his academics while playing semi-professional close to home so he signed contract with FC Emmenbrücke. Sam then moved on to Swiss 3rd division professional club SC Kriens representing their U21 squad where his performances got the attention of the Lichtenstein national squad. Now 28 years old, Sam is still in professional football currently under contract with

Duncan McCormick

Duncan McCormick(see interview from his time at EduKick Spain) from Seattle; Internationalspent aseason at the EduKick Spain Academy. Since returning home Duncan joined the Seattle Sounders MLS Academy and this past season has become a regular starter for the U18 squad, also participating in several senior men’s squad reserve team games. A highlight for Duncan was last September when he played for the reserve team in front of 15,000 spectators when the Sounders took on their rivals the Portland Timbers! Duncan eventually decided to play soccer at Wake Forest University.

Miguel Hamutenya

Miguel Hamutenya from Namibia is an EduKick Alumni who played professionally with Norwegian 2nd division club Strommen FC. Since leaving the EduKick UK program Miguel signed a professional contract with BneiSakhnin of the Israel Premier League. After a successful season with BneiSakhnin Miguel then signed a contract subject to a successful work permit application with Glasgow Rangers of the Scottish premier division but unfortunately the work permit application was turned down so he could not continue with the then Scottish Champions. Bit Miguel never stop believing and later made his way to Norway where he established himself as a key member of the championship chasing Strommen FC.

NazarKmit

NazarKmit from Ukraine is an EduKick Alumni who is currently playing professionally in the Ukraine 2nd Division for FC Skala. Nazar earned a trial at Preston North End of the English Football League 1st Division during his time at EduKick and remained focused and determined to play football professionally after returning home.Nazar completed a successful trail at FC Skala and represented them well at youth team level and his hard work paid off with a call up the senior squad where he has become an important member of the squad.

Nico Muniz

Nico Muniz aged 20 from New Mexico, International attended EduKick Madrid Year Long program during 2010 and then the crafty lefty, returned toSpain Spanish football season.This time on trial with Spanish 3rd Division Professional Team C.F.Pozuelo de Alarcon. Nico also attended a trial with EduKick Madrid affiliate Spanish 3rd division Club AD Colmenar.  Finally returning state side with the MLS Club side Real Salt Lake.

Eric Behrens

EduKick UK Alumni Eric Behrens from Germany, after developing at our academy, signed with English Championship Club,Derby County’s Youth Academy. Eric attended EduKick Manchester Academy where he initially caught the attention also of the Manchester City Youth Academy coaches and attended several training sessions and played in a trail match for the club. Eric then also attended a trial with Aston Villa before being offered a contract with Derby after a successful trial period. Eric was last with TSV Graal-Müritz. 

Matt Sanner

Former Princeton University Men’s Soccer Team Captain and EduKick Spain Academy alum, the fierce tackling #6 from Indiana, International, Matt Sanner, hugely impressed the Spanish technical football coaching staff while at EduKick Spain and later went on to playprofessionally for BK Bodens FC of the Swedish 2nd division.

EduKick Spain Football (Soccer) Academy is an elite Spanish football academy for international student-footballers. The academy is located in the Benalmadena (COSTA DEL SOL), with 320 days of sunshine each year, optimizing our players ability to train on quality grass pitches daily!
